Rafael Hipolito was born in Manaus, in the state of Amazonas, Brazil. At the age of 12, he began training in Jiu-Jitsu, receiving his first yellow belt promotion from Professor Júnior Cardoso. As he progressed in his training, he earned his blue belt and later his black belt. He started training with a Brazilian competition team, participating in various championships, including state, national, international, Pan-American, and the highly coveted World Championship.
In nearly 30 years of Jiu-Jitsu, Rafael has dedicated himself to passing on the teachings of martial arts and the rich culture surrounding the sport. He has collaborated with numerous professionals and worked with students of various age groups—both male and female—including children, teenagers, and adults.
With over 15 years of experience as an instructor, Rafael has taught in several Brazilian and international schools. Now leading Hipólito BJJ, he brings his extensive knowledge to his students, teaching in a practical and didactic manner.
Professor Heloysa is originally from Manaus, Brazil, and began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of six. Throughout her career, she has traveled extensively, competing in prestigious tournaments such as the IBJJF Kids’ Pan Am in the United States and the Brazilian Nationals across Brazil. Additionally, she has competed in the Brazilian Judo Nationals, earning podium placements.
After relocating to the United States, Professor Heloysa continued to develop her Jiu-Jitsu skills, ultimately achieving an exceptional competition record. Before earning her Black Belt, she became a 4-time IBJJF World Champion, a No-Gi World Champion, a 4-time Brazilian National Champion, a 2-time American National Champion, and a 5-time Pan American Champion. She also claimed over 20 IBJJF Open titles, both in her division and in the open class.
In 2023, Professor Heloysa won the IBJJF Women’s Lightweight Brown Belt division. She was promoted to Black Belt on the podium and, since then, has been dedicated to teaching Jiu-Jitsu, inspiring her students to reach their full potential and excel both on and off the mats.
Thiago Oliveira is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has always been passionate about sports, but when he discovered Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 14, it was love at first sight. From that moment, he knew he wanted to dedicate his life to the sport.
Since then, Thiago has never stopped training. Although his journey was not easy and was filled with struggles and doubts, he maintained a mindset of perseverance and determination, making Jiu-Jitsu his lifestyle.Throughout his career, Thiago has participated in tournaments both in Brazil and internationally. He has always been deeply interested in teaching, as it allows him to show others the many ways Jiu-Jitsu can positively impact their lives. He earned his black belt at the age of 25 and has been teaching in the United States since September 2021.
For Thiago, Jiu-Jitsu has enriched his life in countless ways, making it natural for him to use it as a tool to help others. He firmly believes that Jiu-Jitsu is for everyone. While not everyone has the same goals, everyone can improve their lives through training. His school welcomes everyone, creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
